Today's scripture has messed with me all day...its been calling to me as i stare at my desktop to dig in more to what Peter was saying...and boy did God have a good word waiting for me there...here's today's scripture:
"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3:8
What I found was nothing short of what God wanted me to hear. I love it when He does that...this trial, I keep pushing away the fears worries and stresses. I know God is telling me not to fret the unknown, not to play the what-if game. I found my strength through those that are enduring the trial. What strength God has blessed John & Kandy with! I couldn't ever fathom going through the rollercoaster they have been on. Once more we're calling on God for strength, for endurance, for the judge to have a sound mind and for him to hear Truth! This is what I found when I followed my heart and dug more into the scripture, didn't have to look far at all...
"Dear Friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this "coming" he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By he same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgement and destruction of ungodly men. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:1-9
Wow God is patient with us. He doesn't want anyone to perish. Theres still work to be done in my life. I pray for those who haven't come to know Christ the way that I do. And if going through this is a testimony to them of how great our God is. Then my only prayer is that God strengthens us all for the journey.
I'll leave you with this song that spoke volumes to me in the car this morning. I hope it brings light and strength to what-ever path your on. We're all in this together!
Wow I really like that song, I just read the lyrics and they hit me even harder, how often I forget that when everything is going wrong..I'm HIS!
Addison Road "Hope Now"
If everything comes down to love Then just what am I afraid of When I call out Your name Something inside awakes in my soul How quickly I forget I'm Yours
(PRE-CHORUS) I'm not my own I've been carried by You All my life (CHORUS) Everything rides on hope now Everything rides on faith somehow When the world has broken me down Your love sets me free
When my life is like a storm Rising waters all I want is the shore You say I'll be ok and Make it through the rain You are my shelter from the storm (CHORUS) Everything rides on hope now Find More lyrics at www.sweetslyrics.com Everything rides on faith somehow When the world has broken me down Your love sets me free

I woke up this morning at 0200 with a lump in my stomach....I was very uncomfortable and having some extreme sensitivity to my turtle's heat lamp that stays on all night and day. Needless to say I've been in bed all day with the flu. Bless my mom's heart she was so sweet and answered my cry for ginger ale and crackers but even stepped it up and brought me some pretzels and mac n cheese and soup! How sweet is that!!

for the first time in at least 2 years...I went jogging today!!! While in the Army I was on a walking only profile to where I couldn't run cause it caused pain running at the pace of the formation. So I walked a 2 minute warm-up, ran for 5 minutes until my body was starting to hurt (my ankle specifically, I'm assuming too much weight on it) so then I slowed down to a brisk walk for 8 mins, then I ran for 5 more minutes then did my cool down...it felt great! I'm really getting motivated again to drop some weight! Time to get to a healthier, more energetic, happier Auntie Em!!
"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1
What a true and honest verse this is! And I honestly dont know that I could have appreciated it more without going through the trial my family just did. God called me to trust Him in ways I never thought I could. With help from my God fearing sister-in-law, brother, amazing boyfriend, and a few other strong believers; I was able to draw closer to the Lord than I ever thought possible. I don't regret that we went through that trial, and I'm pretty sure if you ask anyone else directly involved they would say the say thing. Everyone has grown stronger and closer together through it. I am in very anxious anticipation of getting to go to church tomorrow and fully worship the God that I now truly know as a redeemer, and the stronghold of my life.
I challenge you that what-ever obstacles you face that you really use them to draw nearer to God. Find out what you can do to let Christ shine through, and then really let Him shine. You'll see things you never knew you'd be able to see, and His blessings will come in an abundance.
Shine on brothers and sisters til the day of our Lord has come! Don't give up!!
WELCOME HOME JACKSON!!! This is John Kandy & Jackson together again in their own home!
GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Jackson is home where he belongs, with John & Kandy! What a blessed day yesterday was!!
The amazing man in my life has challenged me recently to really start paying attention to what I typically call my "gut instinct." It was pressed onto his heart to bring it to my attention that, that may just be a gift that God has blessed me with. He brought it to me that it may be God communicating with me. I knew deep in my heart that things would turn harder before it was all done. And when the call came that we were going thru that harder challenge I cried. I didn't want him to be right, that maybe just maybe God talks to me in this way to help others prepare for whats coming. But then it came to me as he talked me through my emotions...it came to me. There was nothing to worry about. It was like a light flipped. Jackson was going to go home, I knew it in my heart. And sure enough...days later, he went home!
I'm continuing to explore this gift that God may have blessed me with.
How is God talking you through your situation?
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one." John 10:27-30
