Game Night Thursday!

I dont think I've ever talked about one of the new positive things that came out of the situtation that our family found ourselves in these past months...Thursday night game nights originiated not long into the situation when I would be at mom's thursday evenings while she was bartending. Leslie would come over to be the second safety and Kati would join too! We'd do dinner, and hang out til Jackson went to bed. Then Kati & Leslie would stay and keep me company for a lil while and so we'd play a game every week. That continued throughout the whole time. And now its still going strong!! We typically meet at John & Kandy's house now and we all eat dinner together and play games and theres lots of laughter every week and good clean fun!I look forward to it every week!

This week we played Skip bo...what a blast! Reminded me of when John & I would be out at Grandma's playing Skip bo and Uno til the early morning hours with Grandma, Ruth, Megan, Jamie, sometimes Nicole and Steph too! GREAT MEMORIES!!

When was the last time you sat down and played games with your family? I encourage you to start a weekly tradition with your fam as well!!

Daily Scripture

Today's scripture has messed with me all day...its been calling to me as i stare at my desktop to dig in more to what Peter was saying...and boy did God have a good word waiting for me there...here's today's scripture:

"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3:8

What I found was nothing short of what God wanted me to hear. I love it when He does that...this trial, I keep pushing away the fears worries and stresses. I know God is telling me not to fret the unknown, not to play the what-if game. I found my strength through those that are enduring the trial. What strength God has blessed John & Kandy with! I couldn't ever fathom going through the rollercoaster they have been on. Once more we're calling on God for strength, for endurance, for the judge to have a sound mind and for him to hear Truth! This is what I found when I followed my heart and dug more into the scripture, didn't have to look far at all...

"Dear Friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.
First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this "coming" he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By he same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgement and destruction of ungodly men.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:1-9

Wow God is patient with us. He doesn't want anyone to perish. Theres still work to be done in my life. I pray for those who haven't come to know Christ the way that I do. And if going through this is a testimony to them of how great our God is. Then my only prayer is that God strengthens us all for the journey.

I'll leave you with this song that spoke volumes to me in the car this morning. I hope it brings light and strength to what-ever path your on. We're all in this together!

Wow I really like that song, I just read the lyrics and they hit me even harder, how often I forget that when everything is going wrong..I'm HIS!

"Hope Now"

If everything comes down to love
Then just what am I afraid of
When I call out Your name
Something inside awakes in my soul
How quickly I forget I'm Yours

(PRE-CHORUS)
I'm not my own
I've been carried by You
All my life

(CHORUS)
Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free

When my life is like a storm
Rising waters all I want is the shore
You say I'll be ok and
Make it through the rain
You are my shelter from the storm

(CHORUS)
Everything rides on hope now

Your love sets me free

I am not my own
I've been carried by you all my life

Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free
(Repeat 2x)

(CHORUS 2)
You've become my hearts desire
I will sing Your praises higher
Cause Your love sets me free

Your love sets me free
Your love sets me free

Yuck...

I woke up this morning at 0200 with a lump in my stomach....I was very uncomfortable and having some extreme sensitivity to my turtle's heat lamp that stays on all night and day. Needless to say I've been in bed all day with the flu. Bless my mom's heart she was so sweet and answered my cry for ginger ale and crackers but even stepped it up and brought me some pretzels and mac n cheese and soup! How sweet is that!!

Here's hoping this is only a 24 hour bug!
